Imperial German War Ensign (Bonner Fahnenfabrik, 1960s)

🇩🇪 Imperial ensigns didn’t vanish after 1945 — they resurfaced in West Germany during the 1960s.
This example, FG-045, is a Bonner Fahnenfabrik production: wool-blend, 80×128 cm, with its hoist cut away and replaced by a pole sleeve.
Construction details, panel seams, and a 1960s Bonner label point clearly to mid-20th-century manufacture rather than interwar originals. The eagle artwork itself behaves like a workshop “signature”, showing traits typical of Bonner print plates. Later decades saw such Imperial designs reused in commemorative and, eventually, political contexts.
