Reichskriegsflagge hoisted at La Rochelle

🇩🇪 A fortress under blockade: La Rochelle remained in German hands until May 1945, supplied only by sea. The garrison’s war ensign was flown on the harbor building throughout the siege.

The surviving specimen, stamped 150 × 250 cm, matches the archival photograph through a combination of wear patterns, staged fly repairs and present-day dimensions. A full technical analysis with probability estimates is available on the documentation page.
