German admiral’s flag
🇩🇪 A rare German admiral’s flag from 1938–1939 – with full provenance and markings. Click to read more!
This is one of my absolute favorites – a genuine Admiral’s flag used by the German Navy (Kriegsmarine) and marked “Der Flottenstab”. It’s a rare piece, complete with a plate engraved with the exact dates of use (Nov 1938 – Oct 1939), and likely belonged to an Admiral’s command post or staff vehicle.
The flag is wool, with a naval-style hoist, reinforced edges, and a typical depot stamp. This particular example includes a paper sheet with reference to Admiral Hermann Boehm, commander of the fleet at that time. A fascinating link to German naval history right before WWII.
